Temperature is important.
Your finger size can change throughout the day depending on how hot or cold it is, so it is a good idea to measure at the end of the day when your fingers are at their largest.
Try to avoid measuring your hands in the early morning or when they are cold - fingers are generally smaller in the early morning and when cold.
Make sure your ring isn’t too tight or loose.
Rings with a thicker band will feel tighter than a thinner band; in these cases, we recommend buying a full size larger than your normal ring size.
If the ring has a very wide band it might be best to have your size measured in the store. Your ring should fit your finger comfortably; it should be snug enough so that it will not fall off, but loose enough to slide over your knuckle.
Better safe than sorry!
Measure your finger three times to make sure you’ve got it absolutely right.
If you are still in doubt please pop in to the store and we will be more than happy to measure your finger for you to ensure you get the prefect fit.
Borrow a ring.
If you’re buying a gift or as a surprise the best way is to borrow one of his or her rings (from the correct finger) and download our ring sizer guide to determine its size.
If in doubt, choose a slightly larger size as it is easier to make a larger ring smaller without damaging the integrity of the piece, and at least it will go on your beloved's finger when you pop the question!
Ask a friend or relative.
If you can't borrow one of her rings, you could ask a friend of theirs if they know.
Or ask the friend to take your girlfriend engagement ring shopping “for fun.” Have her get professionally sized and ask her friend to report back to you!!
Free ring sizing.
If all else fails or you select the wrong size we provide complimentary re-sizings during the first year to ensure the most perfect fit possible.
The only exception to this service is with eternity and some other gemstone rings: due to the setting, these cannot be resized, although they can be exchanged for an alternative size.
